Human identity generates the pretext for the narrative and direction of our lives. Human identity forms from a chaotic mixture of nature and nurture: because when we interact in nature we encounter other both people's nature and nurture simultaneously.
Within these higher order foundations to identity we can examine more granular formations of identity. Of particular interest to cognitive warfare should be reactionary origins of identity because they offer an attack vector with a wide surface and large distribution of subjects, making those resistant to reactionary identity formation noise in the signal and unimportant subjects in automated cognitive warfare and information collection.
Human identity exists in ranked layers within the limited space of the formation of active thoughts in the aware parts—as oppose to the unaware parts— of our mind. At a given moment humans are apparently incapable of holding in the front of their mind active self-image of multiple identities.
Am a I veteran, an entrepreneur, a self-made person, a thoughtful person, a business person, a romantic, a contentious person, a patriot, an internationalist? We can be all of these things in the unaware mind, but only one in the aware mind. Which one you are can be a reaction stimulated by design.
